Reaction Roles
Let members pick their own roles on Fluxer by reacting to a message. Build panels, choose emojis and roles, and use reverse or unique modes.
Topics: reaction, roles, self, assign, emoji
Let members give themselves roles by reacting to a message — perfect for color roles, notification opt-ins, or a simple verification step.
Overview
A reaction role panel is a message with emoji-to-role mappings. A member reacts with an emoji and receives the matching role. Build and publish panels from Dashboard → Reaction Roles. Netrcol needs Manage Roles, and its role must sit above every role it hands out — see Permissions & Roles.
Starting points
Instead of starting from a blank message, you can pick a ready-made template and adjust it:
- Start from scratch — a blank panel
- Verify — a single ✅ to unlock the server
- Notifications — announcement, events, and news opt-ins
- Colors — pick a name color
- Continents and Zodiac — region or star-sign roles
Templates come pre-filled with emojis and labels, so you only need to attach roles.
Building a panel
A panel is built around a customizable embed message — set the text, title, color, and images just like the welcome embed builder. Below the message you map emojis to roles:
- Add up to 30 emoji → role mappings per panel.
- Each mapping can grant up to two roles.
- Use any default or custom server emoji.
Tip: When you start from a template, Netrcol can create the roles for you automatically and fill them into the panel — one click instead of making each role by hand.
Multiple roles & reaction modes
- Allow members to pick up roles from multiple reactions — when on, members can hold several roles from the same panel; when off, reacting to one option removes the others (a "pick one" panel).
- Keep member reactions — on by default, including panels saved before this option existed. Reactions stay after the role update. Turn it off to let the bot remove member reactions automatically; this requires Manage Messages. This option is saved separately for each panel.
- Reaction mode:
- Default — reacting adds the role. Removing your reaction does not remove the role.
- Reverse — reacting *removes* the role and reacting again gives it back.
With reaction preservation enabled, remove your reaction and add it again to trigger Reverse mode again.
Note: Emoji panels are available now. Button and Select menu panel types are coming soon.
Publishing
When your panel is ready, publish it to a channel. Netrcol posts the message and adds the reactions. Edit the panel later and re-send to update the published message.
